Carolina Speedway: David Stremme Takes Night One of Skyler Trull Memorial

Carolina Speedway PR/Photo – Gastonia, N.C. –NASCAR driver David Stremme etched his first career dirt track victory on Friday night at Carolina Speedway on night one of the 14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial.

Stremme swapped the lead on the opening lap of the Stock Car Steel/SRI UMP Modified feature with fast qualifier Taylor Cook before leading the rest of the way for the $1,200 win. Cook, Rob McLaughlin, Derrick Ramey and 10th starting Jamie Major rounded out the top five.

Josh Langley noted the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade win in a hard fought battle over Bryan Mullis. Paul Irby was third with Brandy Baker and Kyle Norwood rounding out the top five.

In the Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinder feature it was Jerry Oliver scoring the win. Layton Sullivan, Bradley Weaver, Wayne Curtis and Brandon Blair completed the top five.

In the Hornets feature it was Casey Shane scoring the win. Second through fifth went to; Scott Cloninger, Christopher Meadows, Tyler Bennett and David Creighton.

The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series makes its 2014 debut tonight as part of the 14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial. Also on the card is a $2,000 SECA Late Model event a $2,000 to win UMP Modified event and a $500 to win Domino’s Pizza Street Stock feature.
