August 5, 2013 – Audio / Story By RaceChaser Online Senior Editor Tom Baker – Imagine this scenario…a track promoter cooks up the idea to have a seven division race program over four days at his facility with big money on the line for every division and all kinds of extra wrinkles to make the week one of the most unique in the area’s history. Then, one morning at about 4am, he bolts straight up out of a sound sleep and comes up with the proverbial “icing on the cake”.
“What if,” the track promoter thinks to himself, “We threw a ten thousand dollar bonus up for any driver that could win three out of the seven races and let them all race in as many classes as they wanted to with no restrictions?”
Carolina Speedway’s Clint Elkins wouldn’t confirm the 4am creation time but he did confirm that in fact, if you are a racer lucky enough to win any three of the seven events on the card for the 1st Annual King of the Carolina’s race at the Carolina Speedway on October 24th through the 27th, you will walk away with an extra ten thousand dollars on top of what you’ve already won!
Heintz Performance joined Carolina Speedway in offering the extra incentive that we’re sure will add even more excitement for fans and drivers alike to what is already an unprecedented event in the Carolinas area.
“Nobody in this area has ever tried a race like this before,” Clint told RCO’s Tom Baker in a BREAKING NEWS interview which you can hear simply by clicking on this link August5ClintElkinsBONUSannouncement . “We’re probably all just going to stay at the track for four or five days but it should be a whole lot of fun!”
You can also hear Clint preview this Friday night’s King of the Carolina’s qualifier event and next Tuesday’s 41st Annual Carolina Clash Shrine 100 as well.
We agree! Our thanks to Clint and the Carolina Speedway staff for allowing us to break the news to you first this morning!
