(Hickory, N.C.) -Shane Lee got a little closer on Saturday to getting back to victory lane at Hickory Motor Speedway. He finished second in the Limited Late Model division and fourth in the NASCAR Late Model 100-lap main.

“We had the fastest car in the Limited feature I think,” Shane said after the night was over. “But we couldn’t get down where we wanted to run because there were puddles there from the rain so we had to settle for second behind Brandon (Setzer). It was a good run and I am thankful to all of our crew and our supporters for hanging in with us.”

Shifting the conversation to the NASCAR Late Model Z-Loop Challenge Series race, Shane said he thought he had a shot at a podium finish but circumstances just got in the way.

“We were running third with 15 to go and had a caution,” the driver recalled. “We went for second and the guy turned down into me and came across my hood. We fell back to fourth and the last few laps were basically single file to the finish. The car was better than last week but it still isn’t turning like we need it to so we’re going to have to put our heads together and probably test again this week to see if we can get it back to victory lane on May 25th when we race again.”
