NCATS PRACTICE: Steckly Fast At Barrie; Tops Both Sessions Ahead Of Wahta Springs 300

BARRIE, Ont., Canada –  By John Tejada, NASCAR — Rainier Ehrhardt/Getty Images for NASCAR photo — Scott Steckly was fastest in both Wahta Springs 300 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 practice sessions at Barrie Speedway on Saturday.

Steckly turned a fast-lap of 14.165 seconds, good for an average speed of 84.631 mph around the .333-mile oval. The three-time series champion paced the first session with a 14.258-second lap (84.079 mph).

J.R. Fitzpatrick was second-quick in the final session at 14.199 seconds (84.428 mph), followed by Jason Hathaway (14.241 seconds / 84.179 mph), D.J. Kennington (14.269 seconds / 84.014 mph) and Alex Tagliana (14.282 seconds / 83.938 mph).

Jeff Lapcevich, Steve Mathews, Anthony Simone, Joey McColm and Mark Dilley completed the top-10.

Steckly, Lapcevich, Hathaway, Dilley, Fitzpatrick, Tagliani, Kennington, Andrew Ranger, Anthony Simone and McColm led the way in the first practice.

Qualifying for the Wahta Springs 300 is scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m. ET.
