Abington, Mass. – It took Nick Lascuola a few races to find victory lane at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway this season with his INEX Legends car but once he finally did, he’s made a habit of returning.
The driver of the bright yellow and black No. 39 scored his third win in four weeks at his home track on Friday night after losing a 3/4 of a track lead on Wednesday in the track’s Open Wheel Wednesday show when his rear end blew just four laps from the finish.
“After Wednesday’s disappointment this is a huge win for our whole team,” Nick smiled in victory lane. “The car ran strong the whole night tonight. We weren’t sure how we would do because we had to replace so much from Wednesday night, but we were fortunate enough to hit it just right and win both our heat and feature. The bonus is that it’s double points tonight as part of the triple crown series. This is awesome! I can’t thank my family, my sponsors and all my supporters and fans. It’s good to finally feel like we have some serious momentum on our side.”
The win leaves Nick with a lead of 59 points in the battle for the track championship. “We would really like to win a championship at Seekonk,” Nick said. “That’s our goal. We just have to prepare the best every week and be smart on the track and I think we can do it!”
Nick will be in action again this Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. For more information you can visit Seekonk’s website at www.SeekonkSpeedway.com.
