SYRACUSE, NY — Story and Audio by Race Chaser Online New York Correspondent Steven Ovens — Jeremiah Fish Photo — Kelly Hebing told us in our pre-season interview that her goal for 2014 was to put her #10 in victory lane. Mission accomplished after she claimed her first feature win at the Fulton Speedway last Saturday night in their 305 Sprint division.
It is one thing to get the great people in motorsports advertising to back your efforts for the season. But it is quite another to turn around and pay off that support by putting those sponsors in victory lane. That is something Hebing was thrilled to be able to do and something that she does not at all take lightly. The pressure to perform and build confidence in her own driving abilities and the confidence in those who support her racing efforts is something ‘Lil Cobra’ looks to continue to build on.
Hebing has a lot of great folks backing her efforts like SUNY Canton, Cobra Coaches, L&J Landscaping and several others that have been great supporters of her racing efforts. What made Saturday’s win even more special was that the representatives for SUNY Canton were in attendance while Hebing ran off to her first career full-sized sprint car win.
We had a chance to sit down with Hebing on the Turn 5 Podcast Hotline to discuss her win, qualifying for an Empire Super Sprints race in her 305 and looking ahead to racing on the asphalt Saturday at Evans Mills.
