Ocala, FL – Devin Walker and his team are looking to return to winning form this weekend at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida after a two-day race weekend last week there that threw everything including a small kitchen sink at the talented young racer.

Last Friday Devin qualified 11th and rebounded from the tail of his heat to finish fifth. Not a bad start to the weekend, right?

On Saturday, fate started dropping “hurdle bombs” on him right away.

“We had to run the B-Main,” Devin began.  “We started on the pole and thought we were going to be in really good shape.  Then a carburetor issue forced us out before we really got a lap in!”

Because the teenage sensation is leading the points in his class at BRP, he was allowed to start the race at the back, which was 23rd.

Sit down, strap in and hang on.  It was about to get serious inside the No. 55jr.

“We went straight to the top where nobody else was running, Evan said.  “We got to 14th in 15 laps and then had a caution.  We got two more cars after the restart and got to 12th and had another yellow.  Then we passed two more cars after that third caution and got to 10th place all on the outside.”

Just when you thought the young Christian racer’s night was getting better, another “hurdle bomb” was dropped.

Devin dodged a spinning car and hit the wall instead.  The crash broke a ball joint and a control arm but with the help of the team Devin was able to still get back out and manage an 11th place finish!

“It was definitely an exciting night inside the car, I can tell you that!” Josh smiled.  “I can’t thank everyone who helped me enough tonight because without their hard work we would have been in the trailer.”

This Saturday Devin returns to BRP, where he has a 75-point lead in the standings.
