NWSMT PRACTICE: Bohn Leads Field At Bowman Gray; Looks For First Whelen Southern Mod Stadium Win

WINSTON- SALEM, N.C. – official release — Sara Davis/NASCAR photo — Danny Bohn led an active practice session for the Strutmasters.com 199 at Bowman Gray Stadium Saturday.

Bohn finished with a fast lap of 13.472 seconds (66.805 mph) around the flat quarter-mile track. Kyle Ebersole was second fastest (13.482/66.756) with championship points leader Andy Seuss third at 13.545 (66.445).

Former race winner George Brunnhoelzl III followed in fourth and Jason Myers completed the top five.

The practice was slowed twice by caution for a pair of single car spins with David Calabrese bringing out the first yellow flag of the session with a spin in Turn 4 early in practice. Joe Ryan Osborne, who was as high as fourth earlier in practice, also spun in Turn 4 after suffering a flat tire.

Stadium regular and former tour champion Burt Myers suffered a motor problem and returned to his shop to get a back-up car so he can compete in tonight’s race.

The cars will return to the track at 5:30 p.m. for Coors Light qualifying with the race scheduled to begin at 8:40 p.m.
